What are You Willing to Give Up?

What are you willing to give up for what MIGHT be?

In order to become who we're meant to be, we have to give up who we are. In other words, before the exponential growth, comes the dismantling.

Ah, the dismantling…it's scary shit. Nobody wants their life to fall apart, even if the life that they have isn’t working for them.

The fear of losing what we don’t really want often keeps us from growing and reaching our full potential.

My own call to personal and spiritual growth started with a vague sense of dissatisfaction. My life was *fine* but I could feel that something was missing even though I didn’t have a clue what it was.

The feeling that something was off was so strong that in an effort to figure it out, I starting tearing down the structure of my life. Nothing was exempt. I broke up a long-term relationship, moved out of my home, left my job of 16 years, and that was just the beginning.

I didn't know why I felt compelled to do what I was doing and I didn't practice discernment, I just gave all of it the boot and I took out a lot of good along with the bad.

Y’all, I don’t recommend this approach.

And yet, the dismantling will occur as a stage in the transformation process whether we initiate it ourselves or wait for it to happen to us.

This is a process that repeats itself...dismantling and growth, dismantling and growth, over and over throughout out lives. Some people are on a fast growth track and it happens more frequently. Those who are more resistant may be forced into growth.

Awareness of the process does make it less painful, as each time you go through the process you become less afraid, knowing that you will be okay. You will be okay 💙
