I was pretty much oblivious to the idea of having any control over my thinking until I was about 35 years old. I really just drifted through my twenties. I was successful at what I did, but I also just did whatever happened to fall into my lap.
Something I hear *a lot* is some variation on “I’m 45 (or 35 or 55), so I don’t expect my body to look like it did when I was 20. I know it just gets harder and harder to maintain your weight as you get older.”

Here’s the truth: If you hold negative beliefs about yourself and your ability to be fit, healthy, and happy, you are sabotaging yourself. You are literally setting yourself up to experience an outcome that you do not want.
